“Just think,” Tabitha continued, looking around the room, “This could have been us…you and me and Sara…wouldn’t that have been something?”
I was trying to decipher her last comment when Bradley said, “You’re the one who said ‘no’.”
Something glass hit the floor in the hallway, as understanding dawned on me.
“What do you mean she said ‘no’?” I asked turning to Bradley. I was highly annoyed and hoped it showed in my voice. I could let the modeling slide, but not to tell me he was almost engaged before…to Sara’s godmother, of all people, who was skinny, beautiful and whom Grace adored?
