Happy New Year; or An Imagined Conversation

Happy New Year!

Who’s this?

Oh, you remember…don’t you? I hope you do anyway. I haven’t been ignoring you; I’ve been on a bit of a sabbatical, trying to get myself in order.

How so?

Well, I’ve decided to take my writing in other directions and expand my goals to include other genres. It’s something I’ve wanted to eventually explore – I’m just doing it sooner.

Yeah, still can’t place your face though.

Perhaps you recall my Biblical fiction series, which I’ve titled the Genealogy Collection. I plan to complete The Pledge this year…

Ah, I remember you now. Well, the stories anyway.

Great; and I’m okay with that because it’s the words, the stories that should be memorable.

That’s a good attitude, because we don’t always know what’s ahead of us. Plus, if I forgot you, others probably did too.

Yes, well, that’s a chance you take when you put yourself out there. And I have lofty goals for 2014, so we’ll see how big the risk is. Regardless. I’m optimistic about the year ahead of us. It’ll be a good one.

I couldn’t agree more.

Thanks.
