Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors, where participants share excerpts of their books or works-in-progress. It’s a fun way to sample new books and find new authors! Be sure to check out their website. Today’s selection comes from my book, Stay With Me (the full synopsis is below). Noah is a bookstore clerk who is just doing his job when his life is so effectively interrupted by her…
His thoughts lost on the subject at hand, Noah didn’t notice he wasn’t alone in the aisle until he was midway through it. It was only then he glanced up and locked eyes with her – a voluptuous beauty with copper-colored tresses that bounced as she walked towards him. She had an almond-shaped face with beautiful brown eyes; full, rosy lips; and the most naturally tanned skin he had ever seen. She had been in the store a couple times before, but each time, Noah was otherwise occupied with Bill or a customer. She was striking then, just as she was now, and as she moved closer to him, he found himself captivated by her beauty. There was something so wondrously intoxicating about her, Noah couldn’t help but stare. He stopped walking and simply stood in the aisle, waiting as she drew closer to him. Her steps were soft on the carpet, her feet small and dainty; and she was shapely, filling every inch of the shorts and long-sleeve t-shirt she was wearing.
